TURKEY DAY MAJOR SPOILER

Scene 1: Mr. Feeny is teaching the class about the Hutues and Tutsies from Rwanda and Uganda. Cory and Shawn are convinced that those names (and probably the whole lesson) must be made up. After Mr. Feeny assigns a paper on that topic, he announces the winners of the canned food drive: Cory Matthews and Shawn Hunter. Topanga finds it unfair that they win every year by turning in the same cans over and over again after Shawn's family receives the charity. The boys win a turkey and a box of stuffing. After class is dismissed, they go into the hall to decide who gets what. Since they both want the stuffing, they decide to have Thanksgiving together to share the food fairly and get their families acquainted as a bonus.

Scene 2: Cory pitches the idea to his parents, who aren't too thrilled by the suggestion. He assures them that Shawn's family would love to share Thanksgiving with them.

But, over at the Hunters' trailer, Shawn's having a hard time convincing his parents to go along with the idea, too.

However, the boys tell each other that everything will be great.

Scene 3: Alan hangs up the phone and tells Amy and Morgan that that was Virna Hunter, giving him a little warning. When they come to the trailer park, they shouldn't wear red or make any jerky movements because there is a vicious goat roaming the premises; no camouflage either--that upsets the bear. Frankie comes over and asks if he may have a word with the father of Morgan Matthews to discuss a dating situation. After a little misunderstanding, he explains that he was talking about his brother Herman. Herman formally invites Morgan to his trailer for Thanksgiving dessert. The parents approve.

Scene 4: The Matthews get to the trailer park and everyone but Cory is acting negative about the whole thing. Cory goes back to the car to get Amy's purse, leaving the rest of the family to find the right trailer. They get to one that has a sign reading "THE UNTERS." Assuming the "H" fell off, they knock on the door. The man who answers tells them they must be lost. They're the Unters, not the Hunters. When he finds out where they're from, Mr. Unter subtly suggests that they're not welcome there, but he directs them to the right trailer. Shawn answers this time, and he wants to make a good impression. Right away, there are some uncomfortable situations when the wine and appetizers the Hunters are serving totally clash with the ones the Matthews brought. When Cory shows up, he can already sense that things are not off to a good start. Mr. Unter shows up and asks to talk to Chet privately. They go outside and an elderly man explains to him why people of a higher class do not belong in their trailer park. Chet disagrees, but Mr. Unter urges him to send the Matthews home.

Scene 5: Cory and Shawn start to give up on their parents as Shawn's mom starts acting crazier by the minute and his father tries to rush the visit along. Chet takes Shawn and Virna outside. Eric and Alan start to get mad at Cory for dragging them into this. Cory still doesn't get why they can't just have a nice meal together.

Scene 6: Chet tells his family what's up. When Cory and Eric go outside to take Morgan to Herman's, Shawn has go with them so they won't be shot.

Scene 7: Back at the trailer, the parents are eating. Chet brings dessert before anyone is finished with dinner. Another uncomfortable situation occurs when Amy and Alan learn that the Hunters' forks don't match. The adults decide that this isn't just working.

Scene 8: The kids are getting ready to eat at Frankie's house. They decide that the adults may know more than they do, but they're glad that they're ignorant enough to be friends. Each person says what they are thankful for. Eric is thankful that they are about to eat, that he can share Thankgiving with his siblings and friends, and that he's taping the football game. Frankie is thankful for his guests and the food he is able to share with them. Herman is thankful for Morgan. Morgan is thankful to be sitting at the kids' table with Herman. Shawn is thankful for being friends with Cory. Cory is thankful that his parents raised him to like people for who they are. The parents overhear that and decide to give it another try. Everyone sits at the table to eat.

Tag: Mr. Feeny hands back the students' papers. He tells Shawn to stand in front of the class and read his paper aloud. The report explains the parellels between The Hutues and Tutsies and the meal he shared with the Matthews. Mr. Feeny gives him and A+ and Shawn proudly tells Cory that he is now the better one!
