RAVE ON MAJOR SPOILERScene 1: Mr. Feeny spots a big banner in the school hallway which reads, "Illegal Rave this Friday" and immediately tears it down. Shawn tries to reason with Feeny, but he won't be swayed on this one. Shawn asks Cory if he knows where the party will be. Cory, who doesn't even know what a rave is, says he has no idea. Shawn is surprised, since Eric is the one throwing the party. Eric hasn't mentioned a thing about it to Cory, making him feel very left out. Cory finally convinces Eric to let him in on this one, as long as he keeps his mouth shut about it--especially to their parents. Scene 2: Cory comes into the living room and tells Eric that Chubbie's is an available venue for the rave. The doorbell rings and it's Topanga's father, Jedediah with an unfinished, homemade guitar. Amy reminds him that their 20th anniversary is tomorrow, so he'd better get Alan's present done quickly. She and Jedediah go into the kitchen to talk. Alan and his friend Gordy come in, carrying an indoor hot tub. Alan explains that it's a 20th anniversary present for Amy (and himself). When Alan and Gordy are upstairs, Cory tells Eric that they made a big mistake by scheduling the party on the same day as their parents' anniversary. Eric is determined to still throw his party. The doorbell rings again and in walks a little British man named Reginald Fairfield. He recognizes Cory's parents and even says that Cory looks like them, but they only vaugely remember him from their trip to Europe. Reginald rudely invites himself to stay with the family. Scene 3: Everyone is in the kitchen, looking at old photos from Europe. Cory comments on a sexy girl in one of the pictures, then is creeped out when he realizes it's his mom. Reginald says he'll be staying as long as he's welcome. When he goes upstairs, Alan says he's annoying and wasn't welcome in the first place. Eric walks in, talking on the phone to someone about the rave. When he realizes his mom is in the room, he tries to covor up what he was saying, but it is still obvious to Amy that something is up. Now Cory is sure they're busted. Eric assures Cory that they'll get away with it. Then he opens the photo album and comments on a sexy girl in one of the photos. Cory says it's their mom and Eric is grossed out. Back in the living room, Amy tells Alan that Cory and Eric are throwing them a surprise anniversary party. Cory overhears this. Scene 4: Cory tells Eric that they have to cancel the rave. If their parents are expecting a party, they have to give it to them. Eric is disappointed that he won't get to make his mark before graduating. Scene 5: Cory is at school, frantically trying to make plans for an anniversary party. He invites Mr. Feeny and Mr. Turner. Shawn and Topanga try to help out, too. Eric shows up with balloons, but they are misprinted with, "Happy 20th, Amy and Ellen!" Reginald also shows up at school and bothers Mr. Feeny. Scene 6: Cory, Shawn, and Topanga show up at Chubbie's, ready for the anniversary party. But what they find is a bunch of wild teenagers being let in. Eric proudly tells Cory that he solved the problem: they're throwing both of the parties at once. Cory is sure this will never work, but Eric says their parents will have a great time and not notice anything. Frankie, who is only letting in guests who pay a $10 cover charge, is told by Cory to, from now on, only let people in if they're on the anniversary list. Cory goes inside to clear out the ravers before it's too late, but Shawn and Topanga inform him of the fact that is is too late. Cory is told that his parents are coming. He decides he can still save the party by telling everyone to yell surprise as soon as they walk in. The surprise ends up being wasted on Mr. Feeny and Mr. Turner (who look like a cute couple in the dark). The teachers pick up on what's going on, but the secret is safe with them. Cory's mom and dad show up and Cory is about to come clean. Eric still wants to pull it off, though, and he tells them to come on in and "try to act surprised." Alan and Amy become suspicious pretty quickly, but Cory tries to keep things okay. Eric is having a good time with a girl named Wanda and not helping Cory much at all. Just as Cory and Eric are congratulating themselves for pulling this whole thing off, Alan and Amy tell them that they know what's going on. Scene 7: The family goes outside and Cory and Eric's parents tell them how dissappointed they are. Eric says it wasn't Cory's fault, but they are still told that they are both to blame. Alan and Amy go to gather the relatives, leaving Cory and Eric feeling very guilty. Eric says they have to make it up to them. Jedediah shows up with the finished guitar and says he hopes he's not too late. Then the boys get an idea. Gordy tells them that their parents' wedding song was "My Girl." Reginald, Jedediah, and Gordy (who happened to be members of the television band, "The Monkees," in real life) agree to play it. Cory and Eric stop their parents from leaving just in time. Alan and Amy finally get to be grateful that their boys did something special for them. Eric tells his mom and dad that things worked out for him, too. He introduces them to the girl of his dreams. Amy tells him that Wanda is his cousin and Eric is grossed out. Tag: After playing a second song, the group is approached by a manager (played by the same man who played the manager of the television band, "The Partridge Family") who says he loves their sound and thinks they could be "bigger than the Beatles." Also, Reginald tries to decide on a new house to invade. Back |
